What to Expect From Your Inspection

If you are in need of a home inspection in the Raleigh-Durham area, Vetter Home Inspections is here to help. Whether you need a buyer’s inspection, predrywall or one year warranty inspection, you can trust us to deliver excellent services.

We are focused on education, and our goal is to provide you with all of the information you need about the property being inspected. At the end of each inspection we welcome our clients to walk through the home with us and ask any questions they may have.

Vetter Home Inspections has a thorough, multi-point checklist that ensures that no stone is left unturned. The report will explain the overall, general condition of the home and its systems to you and your agent after your inspection is complete. If you are unable to attend we can schedule a call to go over the report.

The report will be delivered online via HTML, or in PDF format, documenting all of our findings including images and videos. The report is both desktop and mobile friendly.

Included In Your Inspection

Wondering what’s included in a standard home inspection from Vetter Home Inspections? Here is a quick overview of the services included in your home inspection, and the major systems that we analyze and assess throughout the process.

Roof
We will examine the roof structure including coverings, flashing, drainage systems and penetrations.
Exterior
This includes the exterior walkways, doors, windows, siding, eaves, soffits, fascia, decks, patios drainage, driveways, hose bibs and other such elements of the home’s exterior.
HVAC
We will visually inspect the HVAC systems including distribution system, heating and cooling equipment, chimneys, flues, vents and fireplaces.
Plumbing
We will visually inspect plumbing systems for proper function including fixtures, tubs, sinks, showers, water & fuel distribution systems, document gas & water shut-offs and look for active leaks.
Electrical Systems
We will visually inspect electrical systems including service entrance, grounding, outlets, switches, meters, circuit breakers, and other such systems.

Appliances
We will test and examine all major appliances including range/ovens, range hoods, microwaves, dishwashers, and garbage disposals.
Doors, Windows & Interior
We will check doors, windows for proper sealing, walls, ceilings, floors, counters and cabinets for defects.
Foundations, Basements and Crawl Spaces
We will examine the foundation, crawlspaces and basements to look for signs of past water intrusion, foundation cracking or shifting, and other structural issues.
Attic, Ventilation & Insulation
We will examine the attic to ensure it is properly ventilated, check for mold and moisture, assess the level of insulation, and more.
